What we do

Advisory and consulting

Our approach is systematic, human-centred and based on research and evidence. We use principles of inclusive stakeholder engagement, human-centred design, co-design and leading diversity, equity and inclusion practices to identify issues and focus on solutions.

Depending on your needs, this can include bespoke diagnostics and assessments, co-design and strategy development, creating roadmaps/action plans, engaging people with lived experience and delivering content to define, measure and reach your goals.

Workshops, group programs and speaking

We don’t offer your standard workshops, programs, or keynotes here; instead we offer the best of experiential and inclusive learning techniques. These programs are designed to get the best results, not the usual results. We bring our extensive knowledge in delivering customised, high-impact workshops, group programmes, and keynotes worldwide to your team on subjects such as unconscious bias, inclusive leadership, self-care, and preventing burnout.

Coaching

Everyone needs a psychologically safe space to ask difficult questions when it comes to change. We provide individualised coaching for C-suite executives, managers, and groups to build effective teams, cultures, and leadership.

What our customers say

  • "Helen Yes Get It did a fantastic job as part of our program that focuses on elevating female leaders from migrant and refugee backgrounds. Some of the words our group used to describe following the session were: "It was a brilliant workshop and something that I will hold on to forever" and "This has changed the way I see speaking"

Jess Case, Senior Project Officer - Youth Leadership, Centre for Multicultural Youth

  • “Helen was amazing and her tools and talks really helped me unlearn a lot of the wrong and reiterate the right. Thanks all others for sharing your wisdom and experiences too - it gets uncomfortable/scary when you feel lonely in certain experiences.”

    SOS Children’s Villages

  • "Helen led an amazing workshop that genuinely made people feel comfortable and excited to take part. The activities were practical and interactive, and the takeaways actionable. Helen's energy and personal stories were really valuable to everyone who took part."

Josh Sharma, Startup Advisor & Lawyer, Luna

  • "Helen facilitated a workshop for Fordham & Perpetual’s Women of Influence Group on “Owning your power & assertive communication”. Helen presented in a genuine and fun way, was well prepared and gave us all an opportunity to get involved. I’d definitely attend another session run by Helen, there’s so much to learn from and with her!"

Deborah Hassan, Women of Influence, Fordham Group

Why is Diversity, Equity & Inclusion important?

Are you concerned your organisation might fall behind, do the wrong thing or lose out?

These terms—inclusion, diversity, ‘DEI’, gender, race, disability, LGBTIA+, ageism, discrimination, unconscious bias, intersectionality, human rights, and more—can seem intimidating.

As research, case studies, the news, employees, customers, and stakeholders keep demonstrating, these issues are important and won't go away.

Right now, businesses stand to benefit greatly from embracing diversity, equity, inclusion and justice. Globally, these developments are happening as a result of a cultural shift that is directly related to business strategy and outcomes.

Opportunity

Increased innovation, performance, profits, adaptability, reflecting your customers and clients, recruiting untapped talent, retaining and advancing talent.

Leadership Potential

It may not be simple, but organisations and leaders can make a difference now and in the future to address systemic issues of discrimination, inequality, and exclusion.

Risks

Governments, customers, and media are all expecting more from companies when it comes to their diversity, inclusion, and representation efforts. We can help you build your case, take action, and prevent your company from missing out on talent, customers, and opportunities.

  • A large corporate needed help to create a new business-wide plan and evaluate the success of their previous actions and Action Plan. The challenge was to create something that was aspirational and exciting, while also being actionable, measurable and aligned with business priorities.

We started by securing key levers for success; a group with lived experience of disability and lived experience implementing similar plans, a partnership with experts, a strategy to secure executive sponsorship, and clarity around budget and connection to overall business strategy.

We successfully managed multiple mid and high-level stakeholder groups, used design thinking strategies and cross-functional partnerships to agree on key priorities, targets and desired outcomes. The results included securing the organisation’s first-ever Executive sponsor for accessibility and inclusion, implementing an interactive and new engagement strategy and running the first-ever celebration launch event for this plan.

Following the launch, the pre-planned evaluation tools were used to keep track of possible issues and successes in areas including employees, customers and community stakeholders. The results included several improvements for customers and employees that were announced internally and externally, and the organisation succeeded in almost doubling its score in an evaluated accessibility index two years later.

  • The project was to create a large corporate’s enterprise-wide approach to family violence as part of their broader gender inclusion strategy.

The challenge was to approach the issues using global and national best-practice, and a business-specific lens to create real culture change. This is also a topic that is often unspoken, challenging and brings up shame. As part of the longer-term strategy, the first phase was to create momentum and engage hearts, minds and hands to make change. This included creating the first internal and external domestic and family violence awareness and action program targeting 35,000 employees and 9+ million customers, to review and update employee and customer support policies, and upgrade processes in consultation with people with lived experience.

The results from the first phase (over two years) were improvements to internal support policies and practices, actions from the CEO and executive leaders to show support, and an increase in employees and customers reaching out for help. Phase two of the strategy built on these wins and included increasing specific manager trainings, opportunities for enterprise-wide employee engagement for awareness and fundraising, and collaborating on industry-wide systemic solutions including product changes.

  • The opportunity was to run a leadership program for a group of people from historically marginalised backgrounds to take the next step in their careers and leadership. These were high-potential leaders, and statistics showed that support could accelerate progress to the next stage of their careers and improve their impact at their organisations.

We began the program with a co-design process (also known as collaborative design, or designing with people with lived experience) with senior leadership and potential participants. Through this process, we refined the best format and prioritised learnings, skills and other needs of the cohort. Over several months we used experiential adult learning to deliver a program that focused on key skills for success (including, but not limited to, self-awareness, leadership style, communication, how to make culture change, inclusive leadership and innovation) and their personal goals.

Together they created helpful structures for personal success, a strong network, implemented projects that had a positive impact on their organisations, and built their courage and confidence to achieve their personal and organisation goals.
